Seated Lateral Raises
Seated Lateral Raises trains 2 of the 18 muscle groups Full Coverage tracks: Side delts 100%, Mid-back / traps 25%.
How to do it
- Sit on the end of a bench with a dumbbell in each hand at your sides.
- Sit tall, chest up, feet flat.
- Raise both arms out to shoulder height, elbows slightly bent.
- Lower slowly under control.
- Sitting removes the leg drive, so you cannot bounce the weight up - expect to use less than standing.
Muscles it trains
Percent of one session's target for that muscle. Anything at 100% finishes that muscle on its own.
- Side delts 100%
- Mid-back / traps 25%
How it compares
Compared with the Dumbbell Lateral Raises, it loads every muscle to the same degree. It needs Dumbbells + Bench where the other uses Dumbbells. Compared with the Seated Dumbbell Press, it loads Front delts 90 points lower, Side delts 50 points higher, Triceps 45 points lower.
